The ECR Group, or the European Conservatives and Reformists Group, is a political group in the European Parliament. It is one of the groups that MEPs (Members of the European Parliament) can join based on their political affiliation. The ECR Group was founded in 2009 and is characterized by its center-right and conservative political orientation.
The group advocates for free market policies, limited government intervention, and the sovereignty of individual nations within the European Union. Members of the ECR Group come from various EU member states and political parties that share these common principles.
In the European Parliament, political groups like the ECR play a significant role in shaping legislation, participating in debates, and representing their members’ interests on a wide range of issues at the EU level.
